The Pula depreciated against the rand (3.6 percent), but appreciated against SDR currencies at the end of January 2019. It appreciated against the US dollar (3.9 percent); euro (3.3 percent); Japanese yen (2.4 percent); Chinese renminbi (1.4 percent); and pound sterling (0.5 percent). In the twelve months to January 2019, the Pula depreciated against the US dollar (7.3 percent); Japanese yen (7.2 percent) and Chinese renminbi (1.3 percent) but appreciated against the rand (4 percent); euro (0.4 percent) and pound sterling (0.3 percent).
