The Pula appreciated against the US dollar (1.0 percent) and the rand (0.1 percent) while depreciating against the yen (1.7 percent), pound (0.9 percent) and the euro (0.6 percent) in January. On an annual basis (twelve months to January 2017), the Pula appreciated against the pound (24.9 percent), euro (10.6 percent), US dollar (8.5 percent) and the yen (2.1 percent) but depreciated against the rand (8.8 percent).
