Inflation remains unchanged at 3.1 percent in July

In July, headline inflation remained at 3.1 percent, unchanged from June and with only marginal movements across commodity groups. Inflation increased for: housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (from 7.4 to 7.5 percent); and health (from 6.0 to 6.2 percent). However, this was offset by lower inflation for: clothing and footwear (from 7.6 to 7.5 percent); and restaurants and hotels (from 5.5 to 5.4 percent). Inflation was unchanged for: food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.0 percent); alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.6 percent); furnishing, household equipment and routine maintenance (6.1 percent); transport (-4.6 percent); communication (0.5 percent); recreation and culture (6.6 percent); education (6.3 percent); and miscellaneous goods and services (7.9 percent).

The trimmed mean measure of core inflation and inflation excluding administered prices also remained unchanged at 3.6 and 4.7 percent, respectively.
