In October, the Pula weakened against major international currencies, while it strengthened against the rand. It depreciated against the euro (3.0 percent), US dollar (2.8 percent), British pound (1.7 percent) and Japanese yen (0.2 percent) while it appreciated against the rand (2.1 percent). On an annual basis (twelve months to October 2012), the Pula depreciated against all the currencies except the rand. It depreciated against the pound (8.7 percent), US dollar (8.1 percent), yen (7.8 percent), and the euro (0.8 percent), but appreciated against the rand (1.4 percent).
