Bad run for DCI continues

The Domestic Company Index (DCI) closed the week ending January 27 at 6 899.95 points, down by 36.31 points (0.52 percent) from 6 959.39 points the previous week. For the year to date, the index fell by 1.02 percent, while a total of 26 286 976 shares valued at P82 651 002 were traded during the week. The week saw the listing of shares in Choppies, Botswana’s largest supermarket chain, following an Initial Public Offering of 43 478 261 ordinary shares, which was over-subscribed by 400 percent.
