Mrs Linah Mohohlo, the Governor of the Bank of Botswana, today made the keynote address at the national launch of the Global Competitiveness Report 2011 – 2012. The report, is prepared on an annual basis by the World Economic Forum, and includes the Global Competitiveness Index that provides an important basis for comparison of the competitive strengths and weaknesses of more than 140 countries worldwide. In her remarks, Governor Mohohlo noted that in recent years Botswana has gradually been losing ground (in the most recent report Botswana is ranked 80th compared to 56th in 2008) and reminded the audience that it is the joint responsibility of everybody to respond to the resulting challenges of further improving the business climate and productivity of the workforce.
