In a statement to launch Banking Week, the Bank of Botswana Governor, Mrs Linah Mohohlo ,has indicated that activities will run from August 22 to August 27, 2011.  The purpose of this week, which takes place every two years, is to create awareness of the important role played by financial institutions in the development of Botswana. The theme for this year is ‘fraud control and prevention in the banking industry’. Both the public and financial institution have experienced various forms of fraud, the corrosive effect can undermine confidence in the industry.
