A team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which was in the country to conduct the Article IV Consultations for 2011 with the Botswana authorities, has now concluded its mission. The visit lasted from May 18 - 31, and reviewed the recent performance of the economy. The mission broadly endorsed current economic policies, including plans for fiscal consolidation as well as the monetary policy stance, noting that they are supportive of continuing recovery from the recent economic recession.
