In June, there was a marginal fall in CPI inflation to 7.7 percent, down 0.1 percentage points from 7.8 percent in May. This reflected mixed movements across commodity groups. Inflation fell for food (from 4.6 percent to 4.5 percent) housing, water and fuels (from 8.5 percent to 7.9 percent), transport (from 13.6 percent to 13.1 percent), recreation and culture (from 4.5 percent to 4.1 percent), restaurants and hotels (9.4 percent to 8.4 percent), and miscellaneous goods and services (8.4 percent to 8.3 percent). However, this was almost fully offset by higher inflation for alcohol and tobacco (from 8.1 percent to 8.3 percent), clothing and footwear (7.8 percent to 8.0 percent), and communication (0.8 percent to 1.8 percent). The trimmed mean measure of core inflation also fell, from 8.3 percent to 8.1 percent while, excluding administered prices inflation was 6.9 percent, down from 7.2 percent.
