By end of December, the movement of against major trading partner currencies was mixed. The Pula depreciated against the euro (3.8 percent), the rand (1.3 percent) and yen (0.7 percent) while it appreciated against the US dollar (5.0 percent) and the pound (12.0 percent). On an annual basis the depreciated against the yen (35.6 percent), US dollar (20.1 percent) and the euro (16.4 percent). Against the pound and the rand, the pula appreciated by 10.6 percent and 10.0 percent respectively.
